The East Lodge

The Lodges at the North (Bath Road) Entrance were designed by Charles Underwood of Cheltenham and Bristol.  They are listed Grade II* by English Heritage

World War 1 War Memorial

Built in 1921 to commemorate armed forces of the Great War from many countries who died in Bristol hospitals. Names are on four bronze plaques beneath the arches. The monument was beautifully restored by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in 2006. 

World War 2 Cross

The  Anglican (East) Chapel was designed by Charles Underwood of Cheltenham and Bristol.  It is listed Grade II* by English Heritage. The Anglican Chapel has been neglected and only a few memorials remain.

The  Nonconformist (West) Chapel was designed by Charles Underwood of Cheltenham and Bristol.  It is listed Grade II* by English Heritage. The Nonconformist Chapel was later used as part of the Crematorium;  none of the original interior remains.

Scholar, reformer and pioneer of independence.

 

A pilgrimage is made to this impressive Grade II* memorial each year on

27 September, the anniversary of his death.
