Heavily wooded and sloping. April 2007: The lower slopes of this area have benefited from selective tree removal and scrub clearance, as illustrated in the picture below:
The ridge to the right of the path was previously overgrown and tree roots had damaged the graves - they were also threatening the retaining wall along the path. In future, this bank will be mainly grassland and wild flowers with some shade from the remaining trees. The overgrown area to the left of the picture is still extensive (mainly area RR) but a lot of work has been behind this patch over the past 12 months to maintain paths and limit bramble growth as a number of the graves here are still regularly tended. Jan 2009: Repairs to the retaining wall along the path well underway.
