Interesting Victorian graves along
'Ceremonial Way' including Raja Rammohun Roy. May 2008: Work begins on the restoration of the Raja's tomb.
August 2008 - scaffolding removed and the restored monument is in view again. Much of the work done remains 'unseen', involving stabilisation of monument's foundations which were in danger of bursting under the weight they supported.
September 2008 - The Raja's tomb was declared fully restored at a ceremony on 28th September - see a report on our News Page. |
