Mid-Late 19thC graves, heavily wooded.
No evidence of any monuments being cared for by 'owners'. March 2007: Over the past 4/5 months selected trees (mainly sycamore, including some very large ones) have been removed in areas H,K,O & R along the paths to let in light and encourage diversity. The picture below show one of the main paths through the area just after the trees had been removed. Individual monuments will not be touched but the setting will be more accessible and attractive.
August 2008: Work began a few months ago on the long boundary wall between the old cemetery and the top plateau. Below is a picture of the rebuilt opening in the wall from the top plateau.
